CHINESE MEDICINE

Welcome to Emily Boschert Healing Arts. Where healing stems from the art of living.

Pain, illness, and our emotional or physical environment can be severe barriers to health and living well, directly and indirectly. Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine treatments are designed to create and maintain health, and were considered preventive medicine in their inception. Remarkably effective, Acupuncture is commonly practiced side by side with Western Medicine and has evolved into an incredible analgesic first aid technique that can bring incredible relief from pain.

However, Classical Chinese Medicine acts as more than just a temporary analgesic, excelling at diagnosing and treating the root cause of imbalances that manifest as painful symptoms, disease, emotional distress and mental illness, from fibriods to seizures to migraines to back or joint pain to autoimmune disease, to depression or anxiety, and so on. In this way, chronic illness, and physical or emotional pain or trauma can be effectively alleviated and resolved, leading to long term wellness.

Classical Chinese Medicine is comprised of a complex system of examination, diagnosis, and treatment. It is the longest existing continuous medical system practiced in the world, informed by more than 5,000 years of observations of the human body, mind, and spirit. The modality views the body as an energetic system in dynamic transition between balance and imbalance. The driving force is Qi, which can be translated as energy or life force. Balance is maintained, and thus disease treated and prevented, as Qi flows in a regular pattern through a system of channels — or meridians — to all parts of the body.

Whether the treatment goal is to explore and dissolve the root cause of severe back pain or migraine headaches, fibroids or seizures, or it is coping with an emotional trauma, depression, or anxiety, a culture of mutual inquiry and discovery guides progress towards physical, spiritual, and mental healing in my treatment room. A growing awareness of the ways in which we hold and carry ourselves through life circumstance serve as profound medicine to the patient. It is within this philosophical and medical paradigm that I also incorporate mental health and nutritional counseling, fundamental to the traditional practice of Chinese Medicine, into the primary treatment modalities of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine.
